UPDATE: Doc Prep (DPS) Workaround Instructions

If you are experiencing issues with your Document Preparation System after the Office 365 Microsoft update, please follow the workaround instructions below. The MS Office error message states that all documents are read-only and locked for editing by another user. These instructions will need to be applied to every workstation using TitleExpress.

1. Create a folder on the local C:\ drive named “TitleExpressDB”
  • Open Windows Explorer
  • Click on the C: drive
  • Right-click the mouse in the main pane and select “New” and then “Folder” from the menu that appears
  • Name the new folder “TitleExpressDB”
2. Copy the Forms, Clauses, and MergeSet Folders from the current location on you network (located in the TitleExpressDB folder) and Paste into the new folder that was just created.

3. Download the Custom DPS template by selecting the link below and save this file “Custom8.dot” to the servers' “\\TitleExpressDB\Clients\DPS” folder

NOTE: If there is already a Custom8.dot in the DPS folder, use a different number.

The user should now be able to open forms, clauses and mergesets as they normally would.

Is there an ETA on when DPS will be operational again? This is causing significant delays in our office. Thank you!
